My Sony Vaio 6 January 2010

A pink Sony Vaio laptop was just one of the things I’ve always wanted to have to match my pink Sony Cybershot digital camera. I was able to buy a Sony Vaio NS25G sometime last year but I’m thinking of selling it off because first, it was mostly an impulsive purchase and second, I realized that 15.4″ is a bit too bulky for me. The problem is that I was just so focused on buying a pink Sony Vaio that I didn’t even bother to read about the things I should consider before buying a laptop.

I realize now that what I want most of all is something I can easily carry around, which is why I’m now thinking of getting a pink Sony Vaio W Series instead. The upshot is that if I can sell my NS25G for a good price, I could buy two W series laptops - one in pink for myself, and one in cocoa brown for my husband – just by adding a bit of extra cash. The W series is a lot easier to carry around since it’s only10.1″.

Before I make a final decision though, I’ll read a buying guide first to make sure that my purchase of the W series won’t be something I’ll regret later on. I found this pretty good buying guide from the website of ShopWiki which covers the basics of what you should know before you buy a laptop.

Why I’m Going to Use ShopWiki Next Time 16 September 2009

I’m pretty new to the entire online shopping experience. So far I’ve only bought stuff from two sites – Amazon and eBay. However, I recently discovered this site called ShopWiki, which is basically a search engine for all internet shopping stores.

What I liked about it is that instead of having to check all the other shopping sites out there for some of the hard-to-find items that I want, I only need to log in to ShopWiki and it will search the entire web for me. When I tried to look for the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre Series of The Chronicles of Narnia (one of the items on my wish list), I was routed to a site which sold it for less than Amazon did.

Another nice thing about it is that they have buying guides as well. It’s always nice to read insider tips on what to look for before purchasing the usual stuff I buy, like booksDVDs or movie memorabilia. They also have a pretty comprehensive list of related links.

I wish I discovered ShopWiki earlier so that I could have compared the prices for all my other online purchases. The next time I’m buying online, I’m going to use ShopWiki for sure.
